I awoke with wings today
not sure how they got there
or how long they will stay.
They are beautifully colored
all red white and blue.
They smell of vanilla
and feel brand new.
They are as soft as a kitten
on the very first day.
I think they might belong
to the neighbors Blue Jay.
I know they’re so cool
hanging head to the floor
but now how do I get them
out my small bedroom door.
